About the Artist
The art is a crucial part of Bia Betancourt life since she discovered that she can transmit her imagination through pencil and paper as a child. or more than twenty years, Bia has challenged herself to capture movement, energy and colors and convey these sensations in her works. Her paintings, sculptures and panels portray the dynamics of daily scenes, sports, dance and everything that is constantly moving.
Currently, Bia is represented by the Commenoz Gallery in Key Biscayne, Florida and has several large works in hotels, commercial buildings, and works with special projects and to order.
Born in Sao Paulo, Bia graduated at Mackenzie University and at the Pan American School of Art. Since then, she continues to search for new knowledge with specializations in sculpture and drawing at State University of New York
and courses with renowned people from the artistic milieu, such as Marina Saleme,
Sandra Cinto, Eurico Lopes and Charles Watson.In recent years, Bia has been part of numerous exhibitions in Brazil, such as on the British Center, Shopping Cidade Jardim and Shopping Vila Lobos. She is currently represented by the Commenoz Gallery in Key Biscane, Florida.

Bia cites influences by the colors, traits and contents of great classic artists like Matisse, Michelangelo, Van Gogh and Alexander Calder, and also the most current, like Vik Muniz, Cenise, David Gerstein, Sandra Cinto and Dudi Maia. Bia’s contemporary art and traits create a unique, colorful and energizing style that dialogues with all ages.
